You can't fix what is already broken

Waiting constantly for answers and running so fast that the soles of our shoes wear thin. Our cracked heels hit the pavement and blood fills the streets. Yet we don't fix our shoes.
Minutes tick by yet the clocks stand still. We're all late and we're all panicked. Yet we don't fix the clocks.
Our streets slowly fill with litter and we can no longer see the ground. Yet we do not pick up the litter.
Water slowly fills our houses and we slowly sink. Yet we do not fix the leaks.
We stop picking up our feet and we lose track of time. We can no longer walk and we can no longer breathe.
Our fragile bodies and our fragile minds struggle to stay above sea level... We fight as long as possible, we try with all our might to pull ourselves to non existent safety. We try to patch the leaks and our shoes, pick up the litter and fix our clocks.. But it is too late.
You can't fix what is already broken.
